A high-quality refurbishment of a Withington thoroughfare, Copson Street, which had become shabby and tired. The street was redeveloped into a pedestrian focused shared surface with space for a weekly market and a pleasant and calmer shopping environment.

The palette of materials reflected the Withington Walls Project that has brought street art to Withington and had already enhanced the area for the better.
Working in close consultation with Manchester City Council, the general public, local businesses and Withington Village Regeneration Partnership the design was developed to produce a high quality public realm with catalysts for growing community confidence increasing pedestrian footfall and business investment.
Government funding for this exciting redevelopment project was secured by Manchester City Council from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
